This article is a good summary of the problems, but in my opinion the solutions you propose are rather flimsy.<BR/><BR/>You acknowledge that even when protections exist, they are difficult to enforce. How would a marine protected area be immune from the enforceability problem?<BR/><BR/>Also, two of the most threatened shark species, the Great White and the Whale shark, each cross thousands of miles of ocean each year. You can't turn the entire ocean into a marine protected area.<BR/><BR/>Anyway, those are just my thoughts.
